Doka to Launch Production in Russia

Doka GmbH based in Amstetten, Austria, starts construction of a new plant in Russia. With this project Doka plans to help Russia unlock its enormous potential for housing and commercial construction. The new production facility will be located in the Lipetsk SEZ (400 km south-east of Moscow), which offers the necessary infrastructure for investment projects. The plant will occupy 6 hectares of land and is expected to start its commercial operations in 2019. With a production area of 3,500 sq m, Doka plans to deliver formwork solutions to the Russian and other markets with similar requirements. The production output is expected to grow up to 67,500 sq m in two years. Doka GmbH invests nearly RUB 500 million (EUR 7 million) in the project. The construction will commence in July and will be done primarily by local contractors. Doka Lipetsk is the first production site of the Austria’s Doka GmbH outside the EU. “Doka sees an enormous potential in the Russian formwork market. That is why for the first time in 150 years we decided to set up production to cater for local customers, and therefore expect a significant improvement of our competitiveness in Russia,” said Ludwig Pekarek, Managing Director of Production and Operations at Doka GmbH. “This project in Russia offers an excellent opportunity to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Doka and many years of its successful business growth, and reinforce relationship between producers and consumers. I believe that our highly qualified project team will spare no effort to set up Doka’s formwork production plant in a good and timely manner, and will ensure the best quality of the plant’s products in accordance with Doka’s standards,” said Alexander Tarikov, General Director of Doka Lipetsk. About Doka Doka Group is a global leader in the development, production and sales of formwork systems for the construction industry. Doka, a subsidiary of Umdasch Group, employs 6,700 people all over the globe. The company targets long-term development rather than here-and-now profits.
