11 - 15 April, 2016 the newly appointed President of Lifan Industry (Group) Co. Ltd Mr Mou Gang discussed the current status and the further roadmap on setting up another LIFAN full-cycle production facility in Russia in the Special Industrial Economic Zone “Lipetsk” with the head of SEZ JSC Managing Company Mr Ivan Koshelev.
In 2014 Lifan Industry (Group) Co. Ltd signed an investment agreement on constructing a factory for 60 000 cars per year worth of $200mln. which would provide over 2000 new jobs in the region of Lipetsk.
In the course of the visit Mr Koshelev got acquainted with four of LIFAN factories in Chongqing incl. the plants for passenger automobiles, minivans, motorcycles and car engines.
LIFAN Vice-President Mr Yang and the company chief operation executives together with Mr Ivan Koshelev, among other topics, looked into the possibilities of expanding the range of LIFAN business activities in Russia through the Special Economic Zone assistance. Previously, a number of LIFAN current spare parts suppliers had already revealed a strong interest in following their principal customer on the path of localization. In addition to that Mr Koshelev took part in the talks with the Government of Chongqing Province to explore the perspectives of arranging a full-scale industrial park for Chongqing business in Lipetsk Special Economic Zone.
