The official inauguration of the new steel cord production line in Bekaert Lipetsk took place today in the presence of H.E. Mr Jean-Arthur Régibeau, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Russia,
Mr Korolev Oleg Petrovic, Governor of the Lipetsk region, a delegation of our customers and suppliers, and Mr Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Bekaert.
The Bekaert Lipetsk plant opened in 2010 and produces steel cord for the tire industry and Dramix® fibers for construction markets. With the new steel cord production line, Bekaert will double its half production capacity in Lipetsk and will generate an additional 50% tire cord production capacity to the plant. This expansion will help the Bekaert Lipetsk team to continue to deliver superior value to their customers and to contribute to the customers’ growth ambitions in the region and the wider CIS.
