Alexander Bazaev: No one lessened the goals and plans for attracting investment

Alexander Bazaev, Director of the Investment Development Agency of the Lipetsk region, told the program "Vesti Lipetsk" about attracting investment in the region in the face of sanctions, partners and business adaptation to the new realities.

Logistical issues, supply of raw materials, components and equipment for production are still problematic for the majority of enterprises. But the situation is gradually leveling off due to the establishment of new contacts and the development of import substitution. The market is being rebuilt for partners from Russia and Asian countries. Currently, a lot of work is being done with large foreign companies that operate in the region, including in the special economic zone "Lipetsk".

"We are in constant contact with representatives of all these enterprises. For example, every week we find out from the residents of the SEZ the situation with production, the number of jobs and the general mood of the personnel. We suggest taking advantage of the support measures that exist today in the country and in the region. It is our task to let the business to work quietly", said the director of the regional Investment Development Agency.

To attract new investors the Agency conducts extensive analytical work - from basic visits to all-Russian and international specialized exhibitions with the participation of large companies to the study of raw material base, which may be of interest to potential partners. The region now considers business representatives from Russia, China and Türkiye as major investors.

"No one has lessened the tasks and plans to attract investment. We have a professional and ambitious team. After having redistributed functions among ourselves, we can work even more effectively. Our specialists are ready to offer future partners almost ready-made business that can be developed in the Lipetsk region. It is quite difficult to talk about long-term prospects now, but in time investors will finally adapt to the new conditions, restructure their processes, and will fill the industrial niches of the departed companies with new projects," Alexander Bazaev said.
