Russian President Advisor Praised Economic Growth in Lipetsk Region.

Sergey Glazyev, a regional economy integration advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, arrived in the Lipetsk Region for a working visit. He aimed to discuss citizen appeals to the Russian President and take relevant measures at the regional and federal levels.
The advisor attended Dankov and Lebedyan to learn more about their social and economic development and held a meeting with Oleg Korolyov, Governor of the Lipetsk Region, to discuss prospects of the regional development.
“We are assured that equal and sustainable development of urban and rural districts is an absolute necessity”, Oleg Korolyov stressed at the meeting. “This strategic goal has been followed in a systemic and comprehensive way for fifteen years. The social and economic impact of our effort is evident: we have completed our local gas infrastructure expansion program and continue expanding the road infrastructure and constructing residential estate. Along with improving the local economy, we are solving many social issues, such as construction of swimming pools in each municipality, ice stadiums, culture centers, and general practitioner’s offices in remote settlements. The development of agricultural cooperatives and businesses activity improves people’s well-being and increases their income.”
While visiting the Lipetsk SEZ, which hosts 21 tenants from 17 countries and has created 4,000 jobs, Sergey Glazyev was interested in what infrastructure and services are offered to tenants and what is the pricing policy. The advisor watched a presentation video about the Lipetsk SEZ and learned about the investment potential of its Lipetsk and Yelets sites. In his turn, Glazyev presented Ivan Koshelev with his new book ‘Economy of the Future. Does Russia Have a Chance?’
After that, Glazyev visited several Russian and foreign. Replying to the question about social and economic situation in the region, he said,
“I haven’t seen much, but what I’ve seen is inspiring. The economic growth in various industries is evident. I was glad to see modern production facilities. This proves that the local economy uses the latest technology to grow. Advanced production processes are applied not only in Lipetsk and the Lipetsk SEZ, but also in regional municipalities (for example, Dankov). The diversity of industries – mechanical engineering, agriculture, food industry, etc. – is impressive. This rapid economic growth fills people of the Lipetsk Region with confidence in the future stability because our present activities create an image of the future.
Lipetsk is the region with best industrial practices in Russia. No other region can demonstrate such investment growth rates which, what is very important, are based on advanced technology. These are long-term investments in the future!
