Lipetsk Region Acting Governor Igor Artamonov had a meeting with Bekaert’s management. Since its establishment in 2010, Bekaert Lipetsk has been producing steel cord for automotive industry and Dramix steel fiber used in construction. The company has 450 employees, most of whom are young people.
The meeting was centered on mutually beneficial economic cooperation in the future. Igor Artamonov noted that the Lipetsk Region was interested in developing business ties with the Belgian company. “In 2020, it will be ten years since our cooperation began. We hope for further expansion of Bekaert’s production operations in the region and are ready to discuss this topic in more detail. Moreover, the professional training organizations of the Lipetsk Region can provide new companies with highly skilled workforce,” Mr. Artamonov said.
In his turn, Bekaert’s Vice President for Operations in EMEA Yvan Lippens said he was pleased to have the meeting and stressed that the company was among the best in the Lipetsk SEZ and had the most tight-knit and creative team. He thanked the Lipetsk regional administration for creating favorable conditions for business and expressed his hope for further successful cooperation with the region and development of the business in Russia.
