Yokohama marked 5-year anniversary of its tire factory in Lipetsk

On June 3, 2017 LLC «YOKOHAMA R.P.Z.» staff travelled to an old-times estate Skornyakovo-Arkhangelskoe to the north-west from the city of Lipetsk to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Yokohama plant in Lipetsk Special Economic Zone.
5 years ago Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. completed the construction of a $190 million facility for tires manufacturing. The locally set up LLC Yokohama R.P.Z. (YRPZ) has been operating as an SEZ tenant company since January 2009. It has taken YRPZ team a great deal of exertion and expertise to develop the project into a leading producer that has already exceeded the management initial expectations in terms of capacities and market share.
YRPZ Director General, Mr. Kawada, thanked all the employees for their excellent work and a contribution into the company’s success. “In these five years we started up, developed and improved our plant in order to produce high-quality tires and supply them to our customers. I want to say thank you for your hard and well-coordinated work, as well as to ask you to keep moving forward improving yourselves and our plant. I am sure that working together we will make our plant a place, which all of you will be proud of, and the products of which will be valued by our customers”, Mr. Kawada said.
The general director of SEZ “Lipetsk”, Mr. Koshelev, was a guest of honour at the anniversary celebration event. Mr. Koshelev wished successful development, as well as expansion of its activity, to YRPZ, and he also wished the company’s management to lead the company and its staff towards soaring to new heights steadily.
We would like to remind you that LLC “YOKOHAMA R.P.Z.” produces summer and winter tires for passenger cars under “Yokohama” brand. The plant production capacity is 1,7 mln. tires per year. The company has 767 working places. Tires made by YRPZ are supplied to the Russian replacement market, as well as to a number of car manufacturers; some part of the produced tires (about 10%) is exported to European countries.
For Yokohama the year 2017 is marked not only with the 5-year anniversary of YRPZ, but also with 100-year anniversary of its parent company, The Yokohama Rubber Company, which will be celebrated on October 13, 2017 in Japan.
