RZD Logistics Began Shipments of Innovative Polymer Geocells From Lipetsk SEZ Tenant to Vietnam

RZD Logistics made the first shipment of geosynthetics from one of the CIS major producers PRESTORUS to Vietnam. The products were delivered by road and rail to Yen Vien, a railway station near Hanoi.

RZD Logistics transported the GEOCORD™ geocells by road from the manufacturing plant in Kazinka (Lipetsk SEZ) to the Freight Village Vorsino terminal in the Kaluga Region. From that point, the goods were carried by rail through Russia and China to Yen Vien near Hanoi, passing the checkpoints at Zabaikalsk-Manzhouli and Pingxiang-Dong Dang. The supplied geocells will be used to construct highways in Vietnam.

This was the first transportation of such goods by rail and is expected to be the start of long-term partnership between RZD Logistics and PRESTORUS.
“Expansion of the product range transported along the international corridor Vietnam-Russia-Vietnam is but a natural stage in the development of our partnership. The list of goods for export is growing alongside the producers’ demand for a faster delivery to the customer. Since railways make it possible, we are glad that more and more Russian companies opt for such a means of transport,” commented Andrey Tonkikh, First Deputy CEO of RZD Logistics. “The Vietnamese market is relatively new but undoubtedly promising. Our products have done well in a number of Vietnamese construction projects, which is why the supplies are steadily growing. Therefore, we have to look for the means of optimizing logistics and speeding up the delivery. In this respect, the railway transportation is a new option we have tried and consider it an alternative to deliveries by sea,” said Pavel Razbegaev, Exports Manager at PRESTORUS.
