Russian Prime-Minister signs the Government Resolution on expanding Lipetsk SEZ area

Lipetsk Special Economic Zone widely acknowledged as one the most efficient in the country now hosts over 40 tenants from 13 states. The volume of declared private investments exceeds 130RUB bn., the number of the new jobs has reached 3000 by now. Resident companies have produced goods worth of 30RUB bn.

All of the above led to putting forward a proposal on expanding the existing SEZ area put forward. The initiative complies with the government policy on imported goods substitution, priority industries support, foreign direct investments inflow promotion.

On July 11th 2015 the head of the Russian cabinet Dmitriy Medvedev signed the the Government Resolution on adding another 1300 ha to the current Lipetsk SEZ territory. The new stage has been allocated within Yelets municipality of the Lipetsk Region, 90km away from the first SEZ stage in Gryazinskiy municipality, and is designed for tenants involved in machine building and equipment production, as well as automotives, agricultural machines manufacturing, power equipment and medical tools.

To launch the new SEZ stage the government has undertaken to equip the area with all the required infrastructure facilities similar to those already functioning on the first stage. According to the adopted plan by 2025 the new SEZ stage in Yelets will deliver 176 RUB bn. of investments, over 10 RUB bn. of tax payments and more than 10 000 new workplaces.
