Lipetsk Region Ranks First in Investment Rating Thanks to Lipetsk SEZ

According to the investment rating by Invest Foresight, the Lipetsk Region remains No. 1 attractive investment destination. The region has been holding the lead for six consecutive month, thus setting a new record.
One of the main advantages of the Lipetsk Region over other regions is a rapid growth of investments. As reported by Invest Foresight, the Lipetsk Region hosts over 100 foreign-owned company. International companies are mostly attracted by the opportunity to set up local production at two sites of the federal-level Lipetsk SEZ, 10 regional-level special economic zones and two private industrial tech parks. Honeywell International set up a new plant in the Lipetsk SEZ – its third production facility in Russia. The plant will produce automation system components, fire, industrial and other safety systems, and automatic identification devices. The Lipetsk plant is Honeywell’s first greenfield project in Russia. It consists of an assembly line, a PPE production line, testing and calibration laboratories, warehouses for storage of feedstock and finished products, and office premises – all sited on the area of 5,600 sq m. The total investments in the project, which was launched in late 2016, amounted to over RUB 900 million. Italy’s Fondital started manufacturing aluminum radiators in the Lipetsk SEZ. The project investments totaled EUR 20 million. This is the first plant built by the company outside Italy. The Lipetsk facility is the company’s most technologically advanced asset. It will produce high-quality cast aluminum radiators and wall-mounted boilers.

The Lipetsk Region also provides support to agricultural enterprises, with a large aquaculture project to be launched soon. SMEs are also developing at pace. The Lipetsk Region participates in the national program on improving road safety and quality. Large funds are spent on improving drinking water quality and other environmental issues.

The Republic of Tatarstan and the Rostov Region took the second and third places.
