Yokohama has become one of the winners of Nissan Best Supplier Awards 2018. The company has been awarded a 2018 Nissan Best Supplier Award in the chassis category from Nissan Manufacturing Rus based in Saint-Petersburg. “Winning in this category witnesses the high quality of the Yokohama tyres and its well-organized supply logistics ensuring the tyres are on the assembly line of the automobile factory on time,” said in the tire company. The Russian plant Yokohama, YOKOHAMA R.P.Z. based in the Lipetsk SEZ has been supplying the tyres for Nissan factory to Saint-Petersburg since 2015. Geolandar tyres are supplied to the plant. Nissan X-Trail is completed with Yokohama Geolandar G91AT, Nissan Murano is equipped with Yokohama Geolandar G98EV. Nissan has chosen Yokohama Geolandar G91AT and Yokohama Geolandar G98EV to be the best in six categories. Logistics and production quality were taken into account as the key factors for defining the winners. According to Nissan results Yokohama got the high final score which allowed the company to beat the competitors and become a winner in their category. “These results were achieved through the concerted efforts of the team, the drive for ensuring the consistent high quality of the production, rapid decision-making and focus on customers,” underlined in the Yokohama company. The awards ceremony took place in Saint-Petersburg on June 21, 2019 during the Nissan suppliers’ panel. The best suppliers were awarded by the Nissan Manufacturing Rus CEO Igor Boytsov. Recently, Yokohama has been awarded a similar prize from the American factory Subaru. In general, Japanese tyre manufacturer works successfully in the pre-assembling segment of the global market.
