On June 29, 2016 Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was receiving very special guests – a delegation from Moscow Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Centre led by the chief of the centre Colonel Yury Lonchakov. The cosmonauts earlier came to Lipetsk Region to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the first human to journey into outer space on 12 April 1961.
Lipetsk SEZ Deputy Director General Khaustov Maxim acquainted the guests with the SEZ latest achievements and the nearest prospects. Colonel Lonchakov, in his turn, presented the SEZ managing company with a commemoration medal “Lipetsk Region – Development Through Investments” that had been taken on board the ISS by 46/47 space expedition on December 15, 2015 and returned to the Earth on June 18, 2016 with international space crew of Yury Malenchenko (Russia), Tim Kopra (US) and Tim Peake (UK).
