On September 20th, 2017, the facility was officially launched becoming the 19th operating plant of Lipetsk SEZ tenants. The ceremony was led by KGP Greenhouses Director of Horticultural Projects Peter van Berkum and Lipetsk Region Governor Oleg Korolev.
The new capacities are relied upon by the owners to catch up with the rapidly growing market needs in advanced turn-key greenhouses systems in Russia. It took 2 154 mln.RUB. to establish 8 000 sq.m. of well-equipped manufacturing space that now allows to reach the output of 150 hectares of greenhouses per year. The product range includes metal constructions with both glass and film barriers, high-quality heating accessories, boilers, ventilators, assimilated lighting systems, water pumps and automatic sprinkler units, as well as all the cable and wire nettings.
As Mr. Korolev stated, Lipetsk Region has been steadily keeping top positions in both greenhouses production and indoors vegetable farming. Most of the newly built greenhouses in the region are of latest UltraClima generation. The launch of another high-tech greenhouse manufacturer in the area will further serve to drive the local agriculture forward.
“The success of KGP – Gakon is based on 65 years of expertise in constructing greenhouses throughout the world and on our commitment to technology perfection” - said Mr. Andries Koppert, KGP chairman and CEO, - “We value the opportunity to contribute to an area as advanced in greenhouse farming as Lipetsk. The new plant is not just another production spot of many, it’s the integration of best Russian and Dutch engineering expertise, enabling us to equip the industry with the best solutions.”
