Bettermann to Add Third Production Line to Its RUB 17bn Project

After finishing construction of the second production line in the Lipetsk SEZ in the first quarter of 2019, OBO Bettermann Production will start designing the third line for the production of cable support systems later this year, said Ivan Koshelev, Head of the Lipetsk SEZ.
The total price of the three-line facility project is estimated at around RUB 17 billion, including RUB 7–8 billion to be spent on the third line. To build the third production line, the company asked for an additional plot of 17 ha. As a result, the plant’s total area will be increased to 25 ha.
According to Bettermann, its facility in Russia will produce cable support, lightening protection, connection and fastening systems for the oil and gas, chemical, engineering, food and other industries.
In 2014, Bettermann spent RUB 1 billion to purchase a site of approximately 4 ha from Belon-Metakon, a bankrupt Russian company. After opening its first Russian facility in 2016, Bettermann’s site was expanded to build the second production line. As soon as the line is commissioned (in March or April), the company will start constructing the third line.
