In the evening broadcast on "Lipetsk time" TV channel the Director of the Lipetsk Investment Development Agency told about regional investment potential and activities of the special economic zone "Lipetsk" in the coming years.
- At the end of September the Governor Igor Artamonov presented development strategy of the region till 2030. A large block of the strategy was devoted to economic issues and in this regard I would like to point out two main directions. First: the SEZ "Lipetsk" stepped up activities in 2022 and managed to attract seven new residents with about 50 billion rubles of investments and 600 jobs to be created. We intend to maintain similar positions in the future which means not less than six residents a year.
- The second area is to attract investors to the region as a whole. We already have a number of major anchor projects in agriculture and mechanical engineering – now it seems essential to create local clusters for these enterprises, in order to fill the sites with specialized production. Together with the heads of municipalities, the Investment Development Agency is updating the investment potential of each district, compiling a registry of territories and facilities for certain future business projects.
- Our Agency has created an additional designed resource for new investors - region investment map on which free land plots and facilities for lease or buyout are marked with addresses, size of the sites, availability of engineering and transport infrastructure.
- We do understand the needs of business within Russia, and are studying vacant niches after foreign companies have left. Whereas previously our work was aimed more at European countries, now we are considering cooperation with Russian companies, as well as with investors from Türkiye, India and China. In August we had an online conference with Chinese colleagues. In October we plan to arrange the visit of Turkish machine building and metallurgy industry representatives to our region, and we expect that the region will get new good partners.
- Attracting business, actually we help it every step of the way: we forecast raw material opportunities, sales of products, availability of personnel, benefits and incentives. Summing up, the Investment Development Agency and SEZ "Lipetsk" function as a one-stop shop with a whole range of services to business.
