Welder is one of the most in-demand working specialties at the enterprises of the Lipetsk region. Despite the continuous training of young personnel, the region's production facilities continue to experience a shortage of welders. In order to solve this problem, teachers, representatives of secondary educational institutions, the regional Employment Center, residents of the special economic zone "Lipetsk" gathered at a meeting before the start of the academic year in of the Lipetsk Industrial and Construction College.
Every year the college graduates about 50 welders and welding specialists. In compliance with federal educational standards, the college strictly monitors the level of students' training, and observes international practices.
"Thanks to cooperation with the residents of the special economic zone, the qualification level of welders has increased significantly, because the enterprises operate with the latest technology and quality standards. Our students constantly improve their level, participating in Worldskills championships, take prizes. We help them decide on the company they want to work at and provide them with internships. On average 10% of our graduates go to the SEZ "Lipetsk" every year," said Igor Ovechkin, director of the Lipetsk Industrial and Construction College.
The Viessmann plant, located in the Gryazi area of the SEZ "Lipetsk", regularly accepts students for internships, including future welders. Very often young people decide on their future workplace during their vocational training. This allows them to quickly integrate into the work and improve their skills in order to join the production process of heating and cooling equipment of one of the world's leading enterprises.
Summarizing the results of the round table, the participants agreed on invitation of employers to the educational institutions, where highly qualified specialists of the plants will give master classes for students. Plant representatives will take part in demonstration exams at the College – thus, potential recruiters will find employees faster and invite them for cooperation.
